Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: A drone attack targeted a Saudi Aramco oil facility in Ras Tanura, one of Saudi Arabia’s major oil-producing cities, igniting a fire in a section of the installation.
According to initial reports, fire brigades and emergency response teams were immediately dispatched to the site following the attack to contain the blaze and secure the facility.
Sources indicate that all operations at the Ras Tanura refinery have been temporarily suspended in the aftermath of the incident. The refinery is considered one of Saudi Arabia’s most important oil installations, processing and exporting large volumes of crude oil daily, making it a critical node in global energy markets.
Saudi authorities have not yet released a full account of the incident, and investigations are reportedly underway to determine the origin and scope of the attack. The development raises concerns over the security of key energy infrastructure in the region.
