Iran has reportedly fired the first wave of ballistic missiles targeting Israel, just hours after the United States and Israel carried out a joint military operation against Iranian positions on Saturday. The escalation marks a sharp increase in regional tensions in the Middle East.
Sirens were activated across northern Israel, alerting civilians to incoming threats. Officials confirmed that at least one Iranian missile was headed toward Israeli territory, prompting immediate responses from the country’s defence systems.
The Israeli military stated that its air defence systems, including the Iron Dome, were actively engaged to intercept the missiles. “A short while ago, sirens were sounded in several areas across the country following the identification of missiles launched from Iran toward the State of Israel,” the military said in an official statement.
