Britain’s King Charles III has stripped his younger brother, Prince Andrew, of all remaining royal titles and instructed him to vacate his residence at the Royal Lodge on the Windsor estate.

Buckingham Palace confirmed that the King has “initiated a formal process to remove the style, titles, and honours of Prince Andrew,” and that he will now be known simply as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, losing the title of “His Royal Highness.”

Andrew has also been ordered to surrender his lease of the Royal Lodge, a mansion within the Windsor Castle grounds that he has lived in for decades. He is expected to relocate to private accommodation on the Sandringham estate.

The decision comes amid renewed scrutiny of Andrew’s association with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and the resurfacing of allegations linked to Epstein’s trafficking network. Recent evidence, including emails, suggests that Andrew maintained contact with Epstein even after publicly claiming to have cut ties.

Buckingham Palace emphasized that the move was taken “notwithstanding his continued denial of all allegations” and stated that the King and Queen’s sympathies remain with victims and survivors of abuse.

Royal commentators described the decision as one of the most drastic actions ever taken by a British monarch against a senior family member, highlighting King Charles’s intent to protect the monarchy’s integrity and restore public confidence in the institution.
