Pakistan will host Sri Lanka for a three-match One Day International (ODI) series in Rawalpindi from November 11 to 15, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Monday.
Just a day earlier, the PCB had also announced plans to stage a historic T20 International (T20I) tri-series involving Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan from November 17 to 29 in Lahore and Rawalpindi.
This will be Sri Lanka’s first bilateral ODI tour of Pakistan since 2019, when the visitors played a three-match series. Pakistan won that contest 2-0 after the opening match in Karachi was washed out by rain.
Sri Lanka last visited Pakistan in 2023 for the ACC Asia Cup, where they faced Afghanistan in Lahore. The PCB emphasized that the upcoming tri-series will immediately follow the ODIs. Pakistan’s packed calendar also includes two ICC World Test Championship matches and six white-ball games against South Africa between October 12 and November 8.
Pakistan’s return as a regular host for international cricket marks a significant turnaround after a long drought. International teams had stopped touring the country following the 2009 terror attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore, forcing Pakistan to play its home games in the UAE for years.
Since 2017, however, international cricket has steadily made its way back. The Green Shirts hosted the ICC World XI for three T20Is that year, and earlier in 2025, Pakistan successfully staged the ICC Champions Trophy, though India’s matches were played in Dubai. It was the first ICC event hosted by Pakistan since the 1996 World Cup.
