TEHRAN: Iran has strongly rejected the claim by Donald Trump that it is willing to transfer its enriched uranium to the United States.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that no such agreement has been reached, nor are any discussions underway on the matter.

Baghaei emphasized that enriched uranium is as sacred to Iran as its own territory and will not be transferred anywhere under any circumstances. He further said that the claims made by the US president are contrary to facts, adding that Iran maintains full sovereignty over its nuclear assets.

It is worth noting that President Donald Trump had claimed in an interview that Iran had agreed to work with the United States to remove its enriched uranium and transfer it to America. He also stated that both countries would cooperate on the issue and that the process could begin soon.

However, Iranian officials immediately rejected these statements, asserting that no such agreement has been finalized.Iranian Parliament Speaker and negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf also dismissed the US president’s claims.

He said that at no point during the talks was there any agreement to hand over uranium to the United States, nor was such a proposal ever discussed.

Iranian authorities also described the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz in the context of the Lebanon-Israel ceasefire as a limited development, adding that no major breakthrough has yet been achieved.
