TEHRAN: Iran’s military has once again issued a strong warning to the United States and Israel against any act of aggression targeting the Islamic Republic, stating that any such move would trigger an immediate and forceful retaliation against pre-determined targets.
The warning was delivered by the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, which coordinates operations between Iran’s Army and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), in an official statement released on Tuesday.
“Our capable and powerful forces have been at full readiness for a long time and are on trigger,” said spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaqari.
“In the event of any aggression or action against the Islamic Republic, they will immediately strike pre-determined targets with full force and face the aggressor America and the child-killing Zionist regime with an even harsher lesson than before,” he added.
The spokesman emphasized that the warning comes in response to repeated threats issued by Donald Trump and senior US military commanders.
On April 7, President Trump had announced a two-week lull in what Iran described as unprovoked aggression launched by the United States in coordination with Israel, following 40 days of conflict.
Subsequent talks were held in Islamabad, but they failed to produce a breakthrough due to what Iran called the United States’ maximalist demands and its refusal to abandon unreasonable positions.
Further negotiations are expected; however, Iran has stated it will not return to the process unless Washington lifts what it described as an illegal blockade imposed on Iranian vessels and ports.
